Piedmont Park Senior Portraits | Kiara W. – Class of 2019
Photographer: Danielle “Dani” Brown
On Location: Piedmont Park, Atlanta GA
Photographer’s Assistants/Crazy Look & Humor Producers: Mom & Aunt Carly
When Kiara’s aunt asked me to do her senior portraits, I was honored. It had been a couple years, but we’re always so happy to work with previous clients. When I asked Carly where she had in mind for pictures, she said she would like to do Kiara’s senior portraits at Piedmont Park. Well, I couldn’t be more happy to do a Piedmont Park Senior Portraits session.
The Creekside Seminoles Cheerleading Squad
Kiara worked super hard and made 2018-19 Creekside Cheerleading Squad her senior year! We definitely had to incorporate her participation in the cheer squad in her senior portraits.
What senior portrait experience doesn’t have cap and gown pictures? Kiara’s Piedmont Park Senior Portraits had to have her Creekside High cap and gown!
To prop or not to prop… that is the question.
OK, so the blatant Shakespeare rip off is a joke, but the question still remains. Should you incorporate props in your photo shoot or have a straight-forward prop-less portrait session. As an Atlanta senior portrait photographer, there’s no right or wrong answer. If you are going to bring props, especially if they’re on the large side, bring a cart or bag so transporting them becomes less of a chore. Also, just because you brought props, doesn’t mean a prop is in every photograph. For Kiara, props were used sparingly, and I think very successfully.
For all of their hard work, we wouldn’t make it through without the love and support we get from those around us. Thanks Mom!
For senior portrait photographers:
In a future article we’ll be detailing how we accomplished this shot with settings. A back lit shot is incredibly dramatic and easy to achieve if you have the right gear.
