When I first sat down with Alicia & Joshua during our consult, they commented that their wedding would be a  family affair. Many of their family members flying from all corners of the United States, so they really wanted their engagement session to include Atlanta as part of their story.

“How about Piedmont Park?” I asked.

They loved it. Quite frankly, the weather couldn’t have been better if I had ordered it just for them. (Quite the contrast from the two weddings I shot the day before. LITERALLY 24hrs earlier.)

Once we got into the park and settled, we started with this signature shot of Alicia and Joshua, with the city in the background. Above: Alicia and Joshua are perched on the old stone wall, with the city of Atlanta serving as the background to their love story.

One of the best parts of the engagement session, in my humble opinion, is getting to know their story. How did you meet? What’s your favorite thing about Alicia? What’s so attractive about Joshua? You can almost see the love as they gaze into each others eyes.

So what do you do when you’re at the park? You go for a walk. And we did.

Little known fact: There is a bridge in Piedmont Park.

If you ever get a chance to walk around Piedmont Park, check out the lake. Lake Clara Meer has beautiful views of the lake. On the north side of the lake, you get a fantastic view over the trees of the midtown skyline.

You can head over to Dockside for a break. We ended our easy-going photography session with a shot of Alicia’s ring. The rhododendrons where in bloom on Easter Sunday. This was the perfect end to the perfect day.
